LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - For some high school girls, wedding dress dreams came true as they picked out their dress Saturday.
 People emptied their  best seller top 100  closets to donate prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses and evening gowns to K 105's Gown Town. Many high schoolers were able to find a free dress for prom.
"There were so many choices and sizes for everyone," Alexis Patzschke said holding her own wedding gownsshe found at Gown Town.
There were short dresses, long dresses,flower grils sparkling dresses, and even a few dresses from the 1980s. Many of the girls had a tough time choosing a dress.
"I was really debating against this blue dress I got and then a purple dress. It was prom dresses kind of tough deciding which ones," said Ceara Ford.
"I've looked other places and there really nothing that I liked. I thought I would come here and see what they had and I ended up finding one," Patzschke said. 
 Girls and their mothers waited over evening dresses  an hour in line to get the prom dress of their dreams. For many, without Gown Town prom may not have been an option this year because - as many parents know - going to prom isn't cheap.
 "It can be $500. It is outrageous! By the time you count in the bridesmaid hair, the shoes, the make-up, the jewelry, the dress - which is the largest expense - parents just can't afford to let them go," explained Deana Simms who brought her daughter to Gown Town.
 "Most of these dresses, you wear them for four or five hours and then they go back in the closet. So many people have wholesale wedding dresses told me I don't know what to do with these dresses," said K105 morning co-host and music producer Annie James.
Many people are hoping that K105 will continue the Gown Town in years to come.
